As an early-career teacher, my journey into EREA Schools NSW has been incredibly supportive every step of the way. The experience of the 'A Call to Participation' workshop was a deeply moving and spiritual day where I truly understood the purpose of the touchstones and Edmund Rice's mission. The way EREA has welcomed my ideas, invited me to share in a variety of professional development days, including conferences and working groups, has shown how valued I am as an EREA employee. I feel trusted and supported in my workplace, and I trust EREA to support my teaching philosophy and vision. I look forward to continuing to work with EREA and educating the lives, spirits and minds of all the young men that come through our schools.

Jade Sparks - Waverley College

Assistant Director Co-Curricular (Junior School)

Teaching at an EREA school has been highly beneficial for my professional development and growth. It has provided opportunities to collaborate with experienced colleagues and take on temporary leadership roles that have expanded my skillset. The students are eager to learn and my teaching colleagues are incredibly collegial and supportive.

Thomas Mullen  - St Patrick's College

HSIE Teacher

As a teacher at St Patrick’s College, Strathfield, it is incredibly fulfilling to be part of a united and supportive community grounded in the Edmund Rice Tradition. It is a place where every person - staff and student alike - is encouraged to let their light shine, whether that be in the classroom, through faith, or in active service with our justice partners.

Our school is more than just a workplace - it is a community that works together to live out the Edmund Rice Tradition each day and to inspire the future generations of young men with whom we are lucky to work. Watching these young men grow into compassionate and driven individuals is truly rewarding.

Annelise Macolino - St Patrick's College

Languages Teacher

One of the things I value most about working at an EREA school is the strong sense of community. It’s a place where staff, students and families are genuinely supported and included. There’s a shared commitment to growth, compassion and justice, and that flows through everything we do. It’s also a place where I feel genuinely connected to the students’ journey into adulthood, and that’s something I really enjoy about teaching.

Honouring the Traditional Custodians of the Land We Stand On

We acknowledge the Aboriginal Peoples as the Traditional Owners of the Country/s on which our schools and offices are located. We also acknowledge the Torres Strait Islander Peoples as the Traditional Owners of the Torres Strait Islands. We pay our respects to Ancestors, Elders, and leaders of the future as well as to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander members of the EREA community. Edmund Rice Education Australia values the spiritual connectedness and relatedness to Country/s and to all living systems of the world’s oldest continuous living cultures – sovereign Country/s never ceded.

We value Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Knowings and recognise and honour their stories, cultures, and achievements as we walk together for mutual liberation and a truth-telling history for all Australians. In this spirit, we are accepting the invitation contained in the Uluru Statement from The Heart to listen to the First Peoples of Australia and work together for reconciliation, justice, equity, and healing.
